How to install SMBUp on Mac
SMBUp is compatible with OS X Lion and above.
Once you have downloaded SMBUp, unzip it if it didn't automatically and add it to your /Applications folder. Then double click to open it.
You will be greeted with this screen:
Click on 'Install Samba for me'
Next you will see this:
Click on 'Ok, help me Install the software'
Next you will see this:
Click on 'Download & Install Package'
Next you will see this:
At some point here you will be asked to allow SMBUp to install. Enter your password and press Enter. Once SMBUp has completed installing you will need to click on 'Configure Shared Disk'
Next you will see this:
Click on the lock. You will be prompted to enter your password. Once it has unlocked click on 'Add new shared drive'.
At this point you will be welcomed by a window that will allow you to navigate to the hard drive or folder that you would like to share on SMBUp.
Once you have chosen your share you will see it populate in the SMBUp window.
Like this:
Next you will need to (1) click 'Update' then (2) click 'Save All'
You will now probably notice that the start button is greyed out. To fix this, simply click on the lock to lock it and then click on the lock again to unlock it (You will be prompted to enter your password each time you unlock it) Now you will be able to press 'Start' and the red dot will turn green.
Every once in a while when you press start you may be greated with this error(see image below). This has never been a problem for me. Just click 'Reset' and then click 'Start' again and the SMBUp server will start running
Thats it!!!! You are now ready to connect to your share drive through Kodi on AppleTV 4!!!
